LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE - QUOTED COMPANIES EXPERIENCE

AIM Listed oil exploration company - Finance Director

The company was facing a period of great change and had until then managed without a full time Finance Director. The CEO needed an experienced FD to start work as soon as possible rather than spend months searching for a permanent hire.
An extensive search of contacts identified an excellent "hands on" accountant whose background combined working with one of the global oil majors with excellent commercial experience.
Our interim FD faced immediate challenges with a Boardroom battle, commercial difficulties, and re-financing the business. Within six weeks the CEO was so impressed with his ability he was appointed permanent FD.


Fledgling AIM IPO - Finance Director

An entrepreneurial CEO had taken his IPO to an advanced stage and a listing date had been set. Advisers, investors, and potential investors were now putting him under pressure to engage a good part-time Finance Director to make sure that the listing was successful and to project manage the professional advisors.
This was fast track with only a few months left to the listing date. SMJ arranged for the CEO to meet with a chartered accountant who had recently become available following the takeover of the listed company where he was CEO.
Within days, the interim FD took charge of the project and made sure that the advisors' demands were met in full to achieve the successful listing.


Fully listed leisure group - Brand specialist

The Group HR Director was asked to source a Brand specialist to work with the Group Marketing Director who had been given responsiblity for a major re-focussing exercise in a significant part of the business.
Calling on our full range of contacts and sources, we successfully provided a specialist with an excellent background in food, leisure, and retail which allowed him to bring a fresh mind to the business.
Working on a fixed term, part-time contract offering the greatest flexibility to the client, his role extended to trouble shooting, strategic planning, customer segmentation, and profit improvement.
